An unfulfilled wish or just a dream
Had another interesting dream last night. In the dream a friend of mine was getting married.
The only thing that seemed weird or should I say laughable was her whole wedding had been thrown on something like a dollar store budget. The people attending were all given gifts, though I only remember the gifts groomsmen were given. They were each given a pair of dollar store underwear, and they were so happy with them! I remember them opening up their boxes and pulling out what looked like black velvet underwear or some kind of soft looking underwear. I mean they were nice looking undies. And at the end of the wedding people were all apologizing to her for the wedding being thrown on a dollar store budget. I felt like I should apologize as well. I went over and told her how sorry I was, and she said not to be. She said she was happy with the way everything turned out and wouldn't have changed a thing. And if she had to do it all over again, she would do it the same way!
The next day I was looking at magazines and on the cover of one of them was how to have a dollar store wedding. I clipped the article and brought it to my friend to show her. I told she was one of the first people to do something like that and now her wedding idea would now be trending. That was the end of the dream. It's all I remember before I woke up.
Dreams as I understand it are suppose to have meaning. If I were to go with Sigmund Freud's interpretation that dreams are repressed wishes that we would rather not admit to. Does that mean I myself wish to have a wedding on a dollar store budget? Or do we break the dream down and analyze each aspect of it. Colors in dreams I read are as important as the dream itself. Like for instance, take the black underwear all the groomsmen were given as gifts. The color black in dreams can stand for concealment or isolation. I've also read that if you dream of underwear in general can represent your personal views towards sex or your sexual attraction to someone else. And also that to dream of a wedding in general can symbolize new beginnings! A wedding can also reflects ones issues involving independence. Seems to me I could be here all day picking the dream apart looking for clues.
I usually have dreams that I can remember in great detail. I only tend to forget them if once I wake up I don't write them down right away. Anyway as I have more dreams I will post about them here. From time to time I'll break them down and see what they are telling me and how much it relates to my personal life.
